CoST countries
An overview of the different countries and their progress during the pilot phase can be seen in this report.
More information on the individual countries involved can be seen by clicking on the menu on the left.
Pilot countries
CoST was piloted in seven countries: Ethiopia, Malawi, the Philippines, Tanzania, United Kingdom, Vietnam and Zambia.
These countries endorsed and implemented the CoST principles and standards. The Multi-Stakeholder Groups (MSGs) in these countries have been receiving financial and technical assistance funded by DFID and through the International Secretariat. These pilot countries are also represented on the CoST International Advisory Group (IAG).
The pilot is now closed and moving to the next stage of CoST as a global initiative. The pilot country MSGs continue to operate.
Associate Countries
Guatemala joined CoST as an associate country later than the original pilot countries. Due to the extraordinary commitment of its MSG and Champion, Guatemala has progressed rapidly and is now implementing the CoST principles and standards equally to the pilot countries. The Guatemala pilot has been supported regularly by the World Bank and by the International Secretariat and the IAG Chairman on request.
