Private sector endorsement of CoST

Globally, CoST is supported by many prestigious private companies and associations:

EIC logo

"EIC advocates fair and transparent competition for international construction projects followed by careful monitoring of the project implementation. We believe that CoST can make a critical contribution to advance reliable and efficient procurement practices and project delivery around the globe."  Michel Démarre, President, European International Contractors e.V.

BBLogo

“As an ethical company, Balfour Beatty supports the CoST pilot programme because increased transparency in construction can only reduce the cost and raise the quality of infrastructure in developing countries". Ian Tyler, Balfour Beatty Chief Executive.

Halcrow logo

"As a values driven business, the way we behave individually and as a company underpins those values. Transparency, honesty and integrity go right to the heart of the way we work in Halcrow, and our corporate purpose - sustaining and improving the quality of people's lives, is wholly aligned to the objectives of the CoST initiative. We are therefore proud to be able to support CoST, as well as a number of other programmes that target corruption in the construction sector."  Peter Gammie, Halcrow Group Chief Executive.

Ram

"In Ramboll we believe in business behaviour based on trust, integrity and professionalism. We support initiatives to promote transparency and work against corruption in all its forms. This is why we support the principles of transparency under the CoST initiative"  Flemming Bligaard Pedersen, Ramboll Group CEO

Skanska

“For  more than a decade Skanska has worked hard to improve its approach to business ethics.  This includes supporting global initiatives like the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI) of the World Economic Forum and commitment to the 10th Principle of the Global Compact. It is therefore natural for us to endorse The Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST) and we look forward to CoST’s successful rollout following the two year pilot.”  Mats Williamson, Group Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Skanska AB Ethics Committee.

STRABAG logo

“We in STRABAG support CoST because our responsibility towards our stakeholders (customers, employees, JV-partners, subcontractors, authorities, competitors, media, civil society) includes cooperation on the basis of trust, openness, integrity and fairness.” Hans Peter Haselsteiner, STRABAG Group CEO

FIDIC logo"FIDIC  (International Federation of Consulting Engineers)acknowledges the challenges confronting the construction industry, especially where many forms of corruption reduce the benefits of vital infrastructure projects for communities and for society in general.  FIDIC advocates zero tolerance on corruption, and promotes integrity management throughout the industry.

FIDIC is therefore also pleased to support initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, both in the private sector and the public sector.  COST is a welcome addition to the array of tools developed to promote greater efficiencies and more accurate information related to publicly financed infrastructure, thereby enhancing transparency and reducing the potential for corrupt activities in the procurement, and execution of contacts.  COST is seen as complimentary to FIDIC's own initiatives such as GPIMS - a Government Procurement Integrity Management System, and FIMS - the FIDIC Integrity Management System for private sector consulting firms".  Gregs Thomopulos, FIDIC President.
