UK holds consultation launch event
September 22nd 2009
The UK pilot consultation was launched at the Royal Society on Friday 11 September to inform public sector clients, industry and public stakeholders about the CoST initiative and seek their views on the UK Pilot. Attendees were invited to help shape the UK pilot of an international transparency initiative designed to improve public sector construction projects outcomes by reducing the opportunity for corruption.
Over 30 representatives from government, the construction industry and civil society attended the event, as well as the CoST Coordinators of Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Vietnam, Zambia and the UK. The potential benefits of CoST to the UK and the disclosure of project information were among the topics discussed during the event. The event was chaired by the International Advisory Group Chairman, Chrik Poortman.
