Results

The pilot phase has shown that the CoST approach is technically viable in government systems and across all construction subsectors, and has yielded useful lessons for applying the approach more broadly. In particular, the project has meant:

  • Sustainable and competent Multi-stakeholder groups are now functioning in all countries
  • Material Project Information (MPI) has been obtained and disclosed in all countries.
  • MPI on 213 projects across 29 procuring entities is now available and has been assured or analysed by an independent team (129 construction projects were featured in the Baseline reports; and 84 projects subject to review by the CoST Assurance Teams).
  • A high- level political CoST Champion is active in all countries.
  • Multiple lessons have been learned in the process and improvements made.
