New CoST film launched

Today, CoST launches a new film that demonstrates the potential benefits from increased transparency and accountability in public infrastructure.

In an interview for the film, Immediate Past President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and former President of the Federation of International Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Geoff French states that “… corruption occurs in the shadows. The great thing about CoST is it shines a light on the dark areas and illuminates them”. Read more.

Bechtel has become the latest major international contractor to offer its support for CoST. Bechtel is ranked third in Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 250 International Contractors, and you can find out more about their support here.

CoST at the OECD Integrity Forum 2015

The OECD Integrity Forum takes place today in Paris. It brings together policy-makers, businesses, civil society, academia and other concerned parties to identify new approaches to preventing, detecting and sanctioning corruption.

CoST Chairman Chrik Poortman is speaking at the Forum and his focus will be on ensuring efficiency in infrastructure investment. You can read his thoughts in the latest our latest blog.

CoST Guatemala Assurance Report highlights improvement in transparency

CoST Guatemala published its fourth Assurance Report, which was unveiled on the International Day of Transparency. It identified improvements in the transparency of public infrastructure in Guatemala and included major advances in CoST Guatemala; such as the requirement for mandatory disclosure by the Regulations of the Organic Budget Law. CoST El Salvador learns from Guatemala and Honduras at local workshop

CoST El Salvador held its first local workshop on the programme methodology and the experiences in Guatemala and Honduras. The event was attended by over 40 guests who included representatives of public institutions, civil society organizations and universities; and aimed to raise awareness of how the program works and its benefits. This approach united the Central American CoST countries. and allowed CoST El Salvador to soak up the CoST processes and procedures which will help to advance its implementation.
